NATURE ON THE GEYERSBERG
Hiking around Freyung and the Geyersberg
Forest paths, views, clear air and small discoveries right around Freyung – and then back to the peace of your chalet.
Explore outside. Unwind inside.

Geyersberg observation tower
New discoveries at new heights
800 metres high, with dreamlike landscapes as far as the eye can see. The Geyersberg is Freyung's natural viewing terrace. And if you think the view cannot get any better, think again: a futuristic-looking observation tower spirals another 31 metres into the sky. Each of its ten landings opens up a new perspective.
At the top, the 360-degree view reveals the beauty of the Bavarian Forest and the Bohemian Forest as a work of art by nature. Take a deep breath, let your gaze wander and discover beautiful things. The tower gives Freyung height – and lets the town, and every visitor, rise above themselves.

Trails around Freyung and the Geyersberg
The town of Freyung describes ten signposted circular trails totalling around 130 kilometres. Several routes lead through the landscape of the Geyersberg and Solla; others take in, for example, the Buchberger Leite gorge and the Saußbach valley.
Which route suits you depends on fitness, weather and how long you want to walk, so Wolfsteiner does not give blanket walking times. Please check maps and trail conditions with the official sources before you set off.

WATER, FOREST & ROCK
Buchberger Leite
Moss-covered rocks, rushing water and narrow paths through one of the most impressive forest and gorge landscapes in the region.
The town of Freyung describes the gorge as part of the signposted circular trails around Freyung. Trail conditions and accessibility depend on the weather.
